The State Rooms form the heart of the working palace & are lavishly furnished with some of the finest treasures from the Royal Collection - paintings by Rembrandt, Rubens; sculpture by Canova & exquisite examples of Sèvres porcelain.

One of the finest working stables in existence, the Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace provides a unique opportunity for visitors to see the work of the Royal Household department that provides road transport for the Queen by both horse-drawn carriage and motor car.

The Queen's Gallery at Buckingham Palace is a permanent space dedicated to changing exhibitions of items from the Royal Collection, the wide-ranging collection of art and treasures held in trust by The Queen for the Nation.

During the Summer Recess the Palace of Westminster, home to the House of Lords and the House of Commons is open for a one hour guided tour, which includes both Chambers and other great State Rooms. The 2007 opening will be from 31 July 2007 to 1 October 2007.
