From the south:
Take the M1 or A1 northbound, then take the A64 to York (look for the brown & white tourism sign).
From the north:
From the A1, take the A59 or the A64 to York (look for the brown & white tourism sign).
From the west:
From the M62, join the M1 northbound then take the A64 to York.
Once in York, we recommend using the city's Park & Ride service to travel into the city centre. Park & Ride services into York operate from sites adjacent to the A64, A19, A1079 and A166.
By Rail:
Situated on the East Coast Mainline, there are direct rail services to York from many of the UK's main cities, including a fast and frequent service from London King's Cross. JORVIK is a 15-minute walk from York Station.
By Coach:
National Express operates coach services to York from most of the UK's major cities.
JORVIK is a 10-minute walk from York's coach drop-off point.
By Bicycle:
York is one of Britain's best cycling cities. The city lies on the National Cycle Network (Routes 65 and 66) and has a good network of cycle-friendly routes and cycle parking. Nearest cycle parking to JORVIK: Castlegate, Piccadilly, Parliament Street. |
