| Arrr, me hearties! The Alton Towers Resort will be opening a fantastic new themed land especially for families in March 2008 named Mutiny Bay.
The flagship of the £6m pirate-themed area will be Battle Galleons, an interactive water attraction set to challenge all ages. Aboard the eight Galleons, wannabe swashbucklers will take part in a fun-filled splash battle of their lives with no-one, riders and spectators alike, safe from a spectacular soaking!
The fully immersive Mutiny Bay will also be home to Marauders Mayhem - a spinning sensation set within barrels of rum and explosives guaranteed to shiver your timbers! Plus, for smaller explorers, a ride aboard the rocking Heave Ho tug boat ensures even the youngest of adventurers can graduate from Mutiny Bay as fully-fledged pirates! |

| Every theme park is different but here are some generic tips to help with your visit, whichever theme park you are going to:
- Buy your tickets online before you go so you don’t have to worry about queuing when you get there!
- Make sure you understand what your ticket includes before you book, as the tickets might have certain restrictions.
- If you can, pick a good time of the year to travel: think about the weather, number of visitors, special events or firework nights.
- Get to the theme parks early to avoid too much overcrowding and queuing at the rides and water parks.
- Try going on the most popular rides at lunch or later in the day, when everyone else has already been.
- Try not to eat too many hot dogs before you go on the biggest ride of the park!
- Bring snacks and drinks, this will help you save money when it’s a long day and you or your kids need refreshments.
- Meeting point: always arrange one, as someone is bound to get lost if it’s a large park and it’s busy!
- This is common sense, but remember to buy gifts and merchandise at the end of the day so you’re not carrying everyhing around with you.
- Normally there are lockers too if you have any other items you want to get rid of at the beginning of the day.
