Open all year round, Shakespeare’s Globe Exhibition is the world’s largest exhibition devoted to Shakespeare and the London in which he lived and worked.

Housed in the vast UnderGlobe beneath the theatre, the exhibition explores the remarkable story of Sam Wanamaker’s struggle to rebuild the Globe and brings Shakespeare’s world to life using a range of interactive displays and live demonstrations.

Find out how special effects were produced in Shakespeare’s time; join the cast and add your voice to a scene played by Globe actors; watch a sword-fighting display; see a working printing press in action or discover how actors are dressed in Elizabethan clothing.

NB: There is no access to the theatre during matinee performances and visitors will be taken to the nearby archaeological site of the Rose Theatre, Bankside's first playhouse. 

Tours begin every 15-30 minutes during opening hours.
How to Get There

Location: On Bankside, on the south side of the River Thames, across the river from St Paul’s Cathedral, and next to Tate Modern.


Underground: 
Nearest Underground stations are St Paul's, Cannon St, Mansion House, Southwark and London Bridge (15 minutes walk). Groups arriving by coach can be dropped off and picked up on Southwark Bridge Road.

Parking
NCP car park on Upper Thames Street on the north side of Southwark Bridge, but parking is limited around the Globe itself.  Where possible, visitors are advised to arrive by public transport.
