October Half Term & Halloween Fun

02/10/2006

School’s out for the autumn half-term holiday in late October and parents can take advantage of the last few days of the theme park season, plus big savings at the most popular parks and London attractions, by booking online now at 365tickets.com

Halloween is also frighteningly close, and children can visit the London Dungeon for free this year if they bring along a carved pumpkin to donate! To take advantage of this great offer, just go to 365tickets.com and book your adult tickets as normal during the ‘Halloween Uncut’ season at the Dungeon from Friday 13th until the 31st October. Children will automatically be granted free entry at the Dungeon. However, if you can’t get your hands on a pumpkin this year, you can still benefit from fast-track tickets from only £9 for children (normally £14.95) and £12 for adults (normally £19.95).

Taking the family to London is always a firm half-term favourite. Avoid the queues again with a fast-track ticket to Madame Tussauds and save £5.71 on adult tickets (down from £18.70 to £12.99) and £2.11 on child tickets (down from £15.10 to £12.99). As the Madame Tussauds tickets are valid from 3pm onwards, why not spend the morning at the London Dungeon first. And don’t forget your pumpkins!

Planning the holiday entertainment in advance and booking with online ticket specialist 365tickets.com means saving time and possible disappointment if the trip is left to the last minute, especially when there will be a rush for the theme parks before they close for the season.

Said 365tickets spokesperson Vanessa Fullerton-Batten: “There’s nothing worse for excited children than spending several hours in the car only to risk facing huge queues at the ticket kiosks when they reach the theme park”.

By going online families can also take advantage of great rates, such as 365tickets.com’s ‘Thorpe Park Fright Nights’ tickets, which are down from £32 to £27 for adults and from £20 to £16 for children. Back again this year from 13th - 31st October, ‘Fright Nights’ will transform Thorpe Park into a world of shocks and screams. New for 2006 is the arrival of a bloodcurdling horror maze, SE7EN, which is a live action horror maze based on the seven deadly sins. For bigger children and adults, there’s an even scarier option with the ‘Fright Night After 5 pm’ tickets (open until 10 pm). To see a side of Thorpe Park that has never been seen before, tickets can now be purchased at the even cheaper rate of £15 per person.

Alton Towers also has a great end-of-season offer on 365tickets.com. A one-day ticket is just £23 for adults (down from £29.50), or £16 for children (down from £19). The two-day pass is reduced to £35 for adults (down from £59) or to 28.50 for children (down from £38). And on the evening of 27th, 28th and 29th October, Alton Towers is once again staging its special ‘Electric Towers’ fireworks and laser event starting at 7pm. Certain rides are open until 9 pm, if it’s not too dark for some to have a go! Adult tickets are down from £29.50 to £25 for adults and from £19 to £15 for children. Great fun for the whole family, discounted tickets are limited so pre-booking is strongly recommended.

365tickets.com has another great half-term offer at Chessington World of Adventures where their ‘Special’ tickets are nearly half price, down from £29 to £15 for adults and from £19.50 to £12 for children until October 31. Chessington presents an exciting, intergalactic Star Wars event for Halloween this year with a Jedi Training Academy, live-action stage show, stormtroopers on patrol and the chance to ‘ride in the dark’ with late opening hours until 8 pm (21st-31st October). And there is much more as the park is transformed into a galactic fantasy world, plus the usual tricks ‘n’ treats in Beanoland and a daily fancy dress competition.

Bookings may also be made by telephone on their customer support line 0901 810 1000 (25p/min) and voucher delivery may be requested by mail or fax. All prices are correct at the time of writing. 365tickets.com always aims to offer the best prices and carries out regular price checks for all attractions and theme parks.
